I think a crew of the homies are out seeing the movie ATL right now. I missed it cause I was getting a pizza for dinner. Oh well, I'll catch it later I spose.

Don't forget about the Goods 1 Year Anniversary party & Lotek Video Premiere. Video starts at 7 PM so be there on time son!!!

The after party at Gypsy is pretty much cancelled since most of the homies that worked there, don't anymore. Word is that everyone will be going to Hollywood Bowl instead, which is all ages, so that's sweetness for the youngins.

See ya tomorrow-slo

Suprise bitches!

This is a pic of what it looks like at 4am at Long Beach Airport. The
amount of hours I have slept is 0. I tried to take a nap right about
2:40am but it didn't happen. As I was laying there I remembered even
more things that I had to do before I was picked up. A big shout out
and thank you to Ashley, Eddie C's girlfriend, for the ride this
morning.

As I write this there is only 2hours 30minutes till I leave. Its crazy
how small this airport is. No sign of anyone. Wait as I type that
there is a paper dude who is def. Parked in the red zone and an
ambulance crusin through. I hear more noise, maybe this joint is waking
up, hell I don't know.

How crazy would it be if I died on my way to pdx and this post went on
the site after that? I guess you would be reading my last words,
bummer. For me and I guess you since you are reading through this
dribble.

I just noticed how fast I can type in thi sidekick thing. I use this so
often that it has impared my ability to type on a real computer. You
would think a computer would be smarter than this thing, but it aint.
When I type on my computer is does not punctuate and capitalize for me.
On this it does. Everytime I type a period. It types a capital.
Everytime I type I it capitalizes it. There are some word that it give
you trouble with though. Take ill for example. That was supposed to be
I'll but it didn't know the capitalize and punctuate for me.

There is one thing my comp does that this doesn't do. Let say you take
the word yuo, on my computer, there is a good chance it knew I wanted to
type you and it would have fixed it for me. Crazy huh. Oh well enough
randomness. This is what happens in an empty airport after a few
drinks.

Don't forget GOODS 1 Year Anniversary on Saturday April 1st. That's
April fools bitches. Oh yeah, if the weather is good, I'll see ya at FG
Skatepark.

I'm back, I'm back

Well, after a week of turential downpour, warm winds, blinding sun, and warm temperatures, I am finally back in good ole PDX. Here's a quick run down of my LA getaway.

Day 0 (Thursday): Flying out tonight. Spotted a cute girl with her mom (yes the girl was over 18!) in the terminal. Turns out she was on my flight. Got up to go the bathroom and when I came out she was there in line for the lavatory. Smiled said hey and went back to my seat. When she walked back to her seat way beind me she was definelty looking at me and smiling. Blown oppurtunity #1. Fly in to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana at 10:30PM where B Dubbs picks me up. To late to catch the "V For Vendetta" preview with Rich, so we cruise the strip around Disneyland for a minute, get the quick tour of the area and head over to Salt and Peppers for a late supper. I had the tuna melt. Mmmmmm!

Day 1 (Friday): Wake up, shower etc. Go to Odyssey so I can get my bike and put it together. Get the tour, watch some videos, and head out at lunch time, Chipotle of course. Its slightly sprinkling at this point. Head over to TipPlus to meet Rich for a session and by the time we get there it's raining cats and dogs! No riding, so we kicked with the crew at Tip. Rich and Eddie show up and Rich puts his new frame together. Head back to town later hoping to hit the Civic Center but still raining. Finally decide head out to SkateLab in Simi Valley for the night sesssion. Shredded the ramps for a bit. My new shoe came off my foot and I fell on my back. B-Dubbs and Brian Terada proceed to laugh at me. Head for home where we meet up with Forrest who just flew in that night. Bed time...

Day 2 (Saturday): For some reason I don't remember what all we did on Saturday, but here goes. I do remember we went to the Civic Center and shot some pretty sweet photos, which you may have seen on this very website earlier in the week. B Dubbs had he digicam in full effect. Pulled a footjam whip or 2 so I was happy. We rode there for awhile then probably went to grab some eats. Kicked for awhile, then went to see "V For Vendetta".

Day 3 (Sunday): Morning session at Etnies. The park is huge and pretty dialed. Street obstacles galore, ramps for getting your air on, and big bowls for soul carving. Morning riding isn't really my thing so I just kinda chilled. Forrest was airing the 7 foot quater with thoughts of the Churchill punk wall in his mind, B Dubbs and Rich were having a crook sesh on the flat bar, and Dean, well he was just being Dean! Next we went to Togo's for lunch were Robbie loved the sandwiches, and the young ladies! Haha! Headed over to UCI with Rich and Eddie and had a pretty good session just cruising around and jibbing stuff here and there. Taco Belled it and headed for home. Stopped by the Brookhurst park long enough to watch Ryan GUTtler do a 3 whip over the wedge to wedge box jump pyrmaid thing. Me and Forrest drove to HB and Hollywood at night just to see some California sights. Hollywood definetly wasn't that cool but it was fun. Walking down the strip with Forrest a little bit in front of me, and a girl with some friends walks past me and again, is totally smiling and looking right at me. Smiled back and kept strolling. Blown opportunity #2. Drove back to B Dubbs and got pizza for dinner.

Day 4 (Monday): Got up and Forrest packed up his goods. Drove to Odyssey so Forrest could get the tour from B Dubbs before he had to return home. Peaced out and had Forrest give me a ride to Tip on his way to the airport. Kicked it at Tip again with Barney, Nate, and Fano till Eddie Little Jeff, and BFC arrive. Went out and shredded the ramps for bit. I got loose on an air and landed int he OTB crabwalk and went down on knee and shoulder. Eddie went down and ended up rippng his already ripped jeans again. They were defintely done for. Headed back to Eddie's to kick it. BW came by to pick me up and everyone decided to head over to Hometown Buffet for dinner. Back to B Dubbs for nightly Discovery Channel session.

Day 5 (Tuesday): Eddie and crew went over to Brookhurst so so I rode the 6 blocks down the street to thte park to meet them. Vince and Jesse were now with the squad so you it was gonna be good. Everyone had ridden Brookhurst for awhile already when I got there so we soon left for the Fullerton park. Everything there is under 4 or 5 feet but it's still pretty dang fun. There were quite a few skaters there so we left after a short but fun session. Headed back to Eddie's. Went over to Civic for quick session. It was too dark for Eddie and Vince to shoot myspace photos so I pulled a feeble to 180 out over the ledge and to rollback down the wedge and then we bounced. Eddie loaned me the Escort wagon to drive home so I dipped out and went to bed.

Day 6 (Wednesday): After getting snaked on the early shower by one of Ben's roommates I drove the wagon back over to Eddie's to meet up with everyone. We called up Robbie and decieded to meet him at the Long Beach park. LB is pretty darn sweet! Big bowl with a huge punk wall that is still airable and 2 clover bowl style extensions as well. There are also a couple wallrides and even a big subbox. The street section is big and dialed as well. Multiple rails, stairs, ledges, wedges, and even a big hip. Everyone had a fun time there and then we went to grab a bite. Super Mex was our destination and the grub was good. Since we were in the area, we made one more stop at Tip to ride the ramps. It was just our crew there and everyone had a good time. Then back to Eddie's, where I realized that I was going to miss out on the Etnies session tonight. BW and Rich were already there and said it was a really fun time. After the sesh they came by Eddie's to pick me up and we went to Del Taco to eat and talk about Goods. Peaced out and went back to Ben's to get some rest for my flight tomorrow.

Day 7 (Thursday): Last day of the trip. B Dubbs went to work in the morning and I got to pack and get ready for departure. Ben came back at lunch time to pick me and my stuff up. Headed over to Chipotle for lunch where we ran into the rest of the Odyssey crew, Jim B, Nuno, Chris, and also Kevin McAvoy. Ate and headed back. Boxed up my bike and tools to be sent back to Goods and then watched a bunch of demo videos at Odyssey. Good stuff. Peaced out at 4:30 and headed toward the John Wayne Airport again. Stopped by Sbarro for a final meal and proceeded to the terminal. Said my goodbyes to B Dubbs and headed in. Get on the plane and prepare for take off. During this flight there is a girl on the opposite side, 1 row up that is definetly muggin' me the whole flight. Obviously looking right at me a bunch of times. Let's just say this one went like all the rest, blown opportunity #3. Haha! I don't know, the mono must have affected me or something, but I was definetly slacking in girl department this trip. Either way my trip was a ton of fun and it was awesome to get to hang out with a bunch of friends from Oregon in a new place doing new things. Time and money well spent indeed. Big shout out to B Dubbs for the spot to stay and the fun times, I'll be back!
Peace-Slodogg

Glenhaven Recap + Pier Update...

GLENHAVEN

Thanks to all who attended the recent public meeting
for the Glenhaven skatepark design. For those who did
not attend, about 50 people showed up, and they
reviewed four different design concepts from
Dreamland. Two came directly from Dreamland, two were
derived from Dreamland's original design and modified
by SPS's Mark Conahan.

Dreamland was and remains open to suggestions. They
took comment from the crowd, and they received written
feedback on the designs today. Check out the website
to see Dreamland's original design. Next Dreamland
will review the suggestions, work up a preferred
design reflecting public input, and present it to the
public at another meeting. Stay tuned.

PIER

An on-site "preconstruction meeting" occurred today.
In attendance were Rod Wojtanik, Parks' skatepark
project manager; Gary Woodruff, Parks' on-site project
supervisor; Dave, his assistant; a representative from
Urban Forestry; a representative from Environmental
Services (drainage), Jim and Steve Dukart from Duke
Construction (demolition contractor), Tom Miller from
SPS, and Mark Scott of Dreamland. It was a big group
because... let's be honest: new development is pretty
complicated in Portland.

On the permit front, things are going well. We could
have a permit issued for both demolition and
construction by Thursday. Bureau of Development
Services is doing excellent work to process their
review of the plan for code compliance as quickly and
efficiently as possible. Rod Wojtanik from Parks has
also been very helpful and making himself available to
get all the paperwork in order.

We'd guess demolition will begin no later than one
week from today. Demolition is expected to take one
week, which means we'll stay on schedule to have
Dreamland on site on Monday, April 3.

As an aside, the sight of the existing skatepark today
provided explanation for why SPS has spent years
working to make this redevelopment a reality. Apart
from the skatepark's inherent design and construction
flaws, the park is covered with tags, had a lot of old
standing rainwater in it, and was littered with empty
beer cans. Simply put, the place is being neglected
because it's not getting the attention it deserves.
With a Dreamland park in Pier Park, an entirely new -
and better - energy will take over the site. And
that's good for skaters, the Parks bureau, and the
neighborhood.

In other news the indoor in Salem opened last night and some locals went

PIER PARK UPDATE!!!

PIER PARK UPDATE!!!

and Glenhaven skatepark design meeting on March 15 at Madison High

- Dean Dickinson

Pier Park Status Report

As we count down to construction, here are the remaining steps:

> Parks bureau finishes its review of the project design. That should come any day.

> Bureau of Development Services (BDS) reviews design for code compliance. When they're satisfied the design meets code requirements, they issue a permit allowing for construction to proceed. This process could take as long as one month, however we anticipate it will be faster. Engineers assisting SPS, Ted Wall and Tim Terich, met with BDS during the design phase to understand exactly what they need to ensure code compliance. We believe the design documents meet BDS's expectations.

> Demolition and removal of the existing park needs to occur. We don't quite have this piece settled but we may be close. We hope to have this step done by the end of March.

> When demolition and removal are completed, Dreamland Skateparks arrives at the site and begins construction, hopefully at the beginning of April.

> Construction could take 16 weeks, though we anticipate it will be faster than that. So Dreamland may be done in late July, but it is possible we could hit our June 21 target date.

> One opportunity we are exploring is the use of volunteers. There may be a chance to use volunteer assistance to build the park faster.

> Questions? Give us a holler. Otherwise, we'll see you at the Glenhaven skatepark design meeting on March 15 at Madison High.

Hello Mondays!!!!

This is the first job I have ever worked that has me looking forward to Monday. I guess there was the time I was a security guard for Washington County Court House. When I was in school I usually worked over in Juvi Dept. During the summers they would hire the cutest girls that were usually home from college, to work the front desk. I dated these girls and they were a lot of fun. Oh the memories....

I want to let you know that Robbie and Ane Morales and the rest of the Fit Bike Co. family had a loss this weekend. Fit mascot and the worlds most human dog Fatty passed away. He had been battling cancer for some time. I will let you know this, that dog was one of the most spoiled people ever. Yeah that's right is said People. Stop by Fatty's website: www.friendsoffatty.com You can purchase Fatty's Friend Reminder Bands. 100% of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to Canine Cancer Awareness.org . Over $300 dollars has been donated to date.

photo: www.fitbikeco.com

Also on the Fit Front. Justin Inman, Adam Perez and Brennan Britton have all made the trip down here. Stop by the Fit site to peep their news and pics of Justin. www.fitbikeco.com

If you also want to stop by the Lotek Site there has been some updates along with the drop of the newest team rider _________. You will just have to stop by the site to find out. Also Lotek's other new team member Mike Aitken gets into town tomorrow to film for the newest Lotek Mixtape. Also if you have been wanting to get a hold of a copy of the first mixtape. Rumors have it that 9STAR LA found 500 more copies. I think you get one free with purchase. Give them a call and see if they will hook you up. Here is the Lotek Site and here is the 9STAR Site.: www.9star.com

In other Lotek news, Bob Scerbo has been here filming banger after banger for the Lotek Mixtape. I haven't seen Bob in several years and nothing about him has changed, well one thing. He is even more amazing to watch ride a bike than before. I would get into what he did but that would ruin the video for you. Don't worry it will be out real soon. I venture to say the Bob may be one of the most original and talented street riders ever. He would be quick to tell me different. That is what makes him amazing. If you haven't gotten a chance to peep his latest video, Animal ALL DAY, you better check it out. If not for all the other parts, watch it for his. www.animalbikes.com

Attack of the killer skateboarder!

Our good buddy Lance Forney (PA. Lance) was attacked by a skateboarder at the Sandy skatepark for riding his bike there. The skateboarder hit him in the face with his skateboard while he was doing a fufanu and then punched him in the face saying that they'll start "handling things like they do at Burnside" if you ride there. The result was a jaw broken in 5 places. Lance had to get metal plates to repair his jaw.

Apparently the skater is a Sandy park local and may currently be a wanted man by more than a few of Lances friends, as well as the long arm of the law if Lance wants to pursue it that way also.

We wish Lance a fast and healthy recovery! He's been out of commission for way too long now.

In the nick of time....

So I hear it has been snowing there like crazy and I am pretty jealous. It has been nice and cold here, and I am quite enjoying it. It has also been raining so it feels a lot like home. I really am not sure what has been gong on. Shad has taken time out of his absolutely busy day to call and bother me at work. I usually wouldn't mind it, but it has been crazy busy around the office.

Have you seen the new VH1 show, I LOVE Toys? The best part is the Cobra Comander "This is his day off." It Cobra Commander from GI Joe going around pranking and causing trouble all while shouting out, COBRA! Toy #17 was Rock em' Sock em' Robots, I honestly haven't gotten to play with that toy much, so I guess I really haven't lived life. "You knocked my block off!" Oh yeah, toy #14 was a bike. I guess some of us never stop playing with toy's, some of us turn into jocks that play with toy's, and a lot more of us turn into cooks that used to play with toy's and just spend all their time hating those that still do and do it well. "Riding double leads to trouble."

Slo will be up in this piece next Thursday night and Forrest on Friday night. Let the good times roll! I guess that is it for now. Have a good weekend.

On a jet plane...

King Krush Vince Kroff, Ben Hucke, and Ryan Mills are taking off tomorrow to fly into Vegas to meet up with the rest of the Premium team for a week long road trip. Word is they also get some money allotted to them so we'll have to wait and see if Hucke wins or loses it all in the casinos. Let's just hope they at least have good breakfasts!

I believe the road trip will start in Vegas and head down towards Arizona to kick it with KC Badger for a bit. Then the crew may head over towards SoCal for more fun in the sun. Ryan Fudger is also tagging along to take photos for RideBMX so maybe some homies will get some coverage.

Good times and good luck fellas.

You're Invited: Pacific Community Park Groundbreaking Event on March 15

You are invited to come help the Board of County Commissioners and
Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation celebrate the start of construction
on Pacific Community Park in east Clark County at 4 p.m. on March 15.
This 56-acre park is located on the south side of NE 18th Street,
between NE 164th and NE 172nd avenues, and is the first community park
to start construction as part of the new Greater Clark Parks District.

The event will feature brief comments from the Board of County
Commissioners, Parks and Recreation Advisory Commissioners,
Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Director David Judd, and Clark
County DOGPAW Chair Pam Goe prior to the official groundbreaking
ceremony. Children and friendly dogs are welcome to attend, and light
refreshments will be provided. The event will take place inside the park
just north of the entrance at the corner of NE 164th Avenue and NE 15th
Street. On-street parking will be available along NE 164th Avenue and
NE 15th Street.

Once construction is complete, Pacific Community Park will feature:
>> Play areas
>> Ball fields
>> A 10,000 square foot Extreme Sports Park for skateboarders, BMX
riders, and in-line skaters
>> A fenced 8-acre off-leash area for dogs
>> An outdoor in-line hockey rink
>> Trails
>> Restrooms
>> Picnic shelters
>> Parking
>> Landscaping

The Pacific Community Park construction contract is scheduled to be
awarded to a contractor on March 7, with work starting on or after March
15. Weather permitting, construction is tentatively scheduled to be
complete in spring 2007. In preparation for the start of construction,
the existing off-leash area was relocated to a four-acre area in the
southwest corner of the park on March 1. This temporary off-leash area
will be available throughout construction.

The Greater Clark Parks District is a property tax-based metropolitan
parks district passed by voters in the unincorporated urban area of
Clark County in February 2005. These property taxes will be used to
fund maintenance of 35 new parks, 7 miles of trails, and 41 sports
fields located outside the city of Vancouver, but inside the urban
growth boundary. Prior to the 2005 vote, funding was in place to design
and construct these parks, trails and fields, but development could not
proceed until dedicated, secure funding for maintenance was available.
Design and construction of the development projects is paid for with
Park Impact Fees, which are paid whenever a new residential development
is started; and by the Real Estate Excise Tax, which is paid whenever a
home is sold or resold in Clark County.

For more information about the groundbreaking event or the Greater Clark
Parks District projects, call 619-1141, or visit this Web page: www.vanclarkparks-rec.org.

Metro Madness

Well, 2006 Toronto Metro Jam is offically over, and yes, Mirra actually showed up, and placed 2nd. First place was taken by Mr. Unstoppable, Josh Harrington. What has he won, 4 in a row or something crazy? Reppin it for GOODS, Gary Young took 3rd, pineapple juice conosouir Morgan Wade placed 4th, and Brian Hunt rounds out the top 5.

I hear the tranny to tranny box is back from last years Vancouver Metro, and even more moves were pulled over it. Including the flip whip, 360 whip X-up, no handed frontflip, and a double tailwhip. More than wild to say the least.

Best Trick sounds like it was, pardon my french, "off the heezy!" JC atempted barspin over ice down the rail. Justin Simpson pulled a barspin to icepick on the rail. Aaron Ross rode up the ledge to double tailwhip!! And also tailwhipped off the top over the wedge to flat! But, again, Mr. Unstoppable returns to claim the Best Trick prize as well by one uping his best trick winning trick in Vancouver, by pulling out a barspin to overside grind on the rail.

So there you have a quick run down off the contest trickery. I hear Mr. Ryan Sher may be giving us a more a personal account of the weekends events as soon as he returns to PDX. Stay tuned for that. Until next time...Slo

A taste of the Northwest...

WARNING STORY ABOUT CALIFORNIA.

Headed into work today, well at least I tried to. A little background info. Yesterday was hot as hell and sunny, normal shit. This morning I am laying in bed regretting moving from that oh so comfy position and I swear I hear something. Something that is not very normal for here, but something we have had plenty of the last few weeks. I look outside and it is raining. Rewind back to the start. Headed into work today and it was raining so hard that you could not see the road because the stripes are barely visible in the sunshine. Everyone in California treat rain as a total disaster. That is probably the reason there are so many accidents in the PDX area, it is probably someone from Cali. I must say it was nice to walk 20 feet and be soaking wet by the time I hit the door. I miss the NW, but I don't miss the economy. On to the news.

WARNING STORY ABOUT CALIFORNIA FINISHED, WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY FRIDAY NEWS POST.

It seems people really have trouble with me posting news about my life on my site, so fuck you people.

If you happened by www.bmxonline.com you might have seen Forrest Berkey had a pic in the "TUESDAY Photos 02-28-06". I would like to put it up but the giant company of Time Warner would prolly throw me in jail for stealing. If they only knew. I gave them two links from the site, they should be happy now. I will say this, Forrest is in good company for that post and he could hold his own against any of em'.

Speaking of Forrest, him and Slodogg are trying to plan a trip down here to shred my new spots, can't wait. What can wait is the spread of Slo's MSM all over the Southern California Region.

Everyone was real quiet when it came to commenting on the good parks that are gong to be built in Pier Park and Battleground. So it seems like everyone lives by the "If you can't say anything mean don't say anything at all" credo. Damn that sucks. I guess you too should go by GOODS and join the shit talking convention.

I need to send a props out to Ryan Sher. In the backyard jam footage he does the biggest wallride of the contest, both ways. Nuff respect!

Taj Big Bowl Jump Circa 94'

I was looking through the pics in Burnside Riders Group on Myspace. There are some really good ones. That got me thinkin' about how many pics I have from the original days of our invasion into one of the most dangerous rocks in the US. It would be great to start collecting stories and photos and hell maybe even make a book. When I find time I am going to start scanning my pictures and maybe put them up for all to see. I might have to harass Shad into giving me a hand in that one too. Today's Bside riders have it so easy and you have no problem talkin' shit on the guy's who paved the way and put up with the guns, fights and disease of early day Burnside. Even if you never go up to one of the OG's and thank em', I will go ahead and say your welcome.

With that, have a great Friday and may the clouds part and bless you with dry pavement.-ben

Ride & Metro

The new RideBMX is out and it's the yearly Photo Issue. A few locs made it in, including Mike Hoder and Eddie Cleveland. There's also a bunch of other nice photos as well as a pretty sweet concept cover, concieved by Odyssey Art Director and TM, Jim Bauer. Check out the shop copy at GOODS and bring us burritos!!

Toronto Metro Jam is this weekend. Ryan Sher is there reppin' while claiming not to do any tuck no-handers! Can he hold true to his claim? I guess we'll have to wait for the next PROPS to find out. I also hear Mirra may be sporting the first MirraCo frame, that is if he actually shows up for this one.

It's not raining for once, go ride your bikes kids!!!

What do ya got?

I really don't have much. The new Props should be dropping real soon or even right now. There is quite a lot of content in that issue. My 3 recommended parts are as follows:

1. Battle Royale Street Contest U.K.
2. Jim Bauer Profile
3. Backyard Jam, U.K.

Not necessarily in that order. If you get a chance check it out. I know they have had a certain commercial on rotation at GOODS. If you can get them to stop checking for a victory hop in slow motion, you might be able to watch the vid.

Have any of you seen Walk the Line? That is one amazing movie, check that out too. I guess that is it for tonight. If any of you have something you want posted email Slo or myself and we'll make it happen. Hopefully tomorrow I can get one of the other peeps to get something up.

Oh yeah, check www.sofreestyle.com for a hot new site that should be up by midnight.
