Here's a reminder for this year's EuJam. This is a little over a week away. Not this weekend, but next. For those that are going to stay over for sunday, I suggest getting a group to go in on a cheap hotel room, or if it's nice out find a decent spot to camp out at for the night. OK so we've decided that EuJam 2006 will be on the second weekend in August. That's
Saturday August 12th / Sunday August 13th.
Saturday will be the big day that everyone will want to be there for. Churchill is always the spot with Bethel being an option later in the day for the evening session.
For those of you yet to ride these parks, this is a great introduction to them, so come on down and shred it!! It's always a good time with tons of friends old and new chilling out, riding bikes, and enjoying the day. Be there or be square brother!!!

Chester has some shit luck....
"chester "the best name in bmx" blacksmith has just signed on. in a suprise phone call with from your truly, 48 hours to go, a plane ticket from portland to rochester, and a 500 dollar tax return, chester is in..."So yesterday I mentioned Chet in the news. I read about his East Coast Takeover on the Kink site. Well it was more of a mention about him doing something really high and really crazy, you know, the normal Chester stuff. Chet is hands down one of my favorite riders. Since the first time I met him on a Southern Oregon Road Trip several years ago, I havae been a fan of Chet. Several others and I have always been willing to do anything to help him along the way.
Well time has passed and Chesters riding had finally been able to speak for itself and people have been taking notice. I guess to make a long story longer, Chester let me know that he wouldn't be in town when I get there this week. I was def. bummed, but he then informed me that he was going to be gone because the guy's from Shitluck Clothing had asked him to join the team and they wanted to fly him out to be part of their road trip. So there you have it.
Chet is out East on a trip with some of the craziest muthers there is and I bet he is having a blast. Congrats to Chet for his new sponsor.-ben

Ryan Sher took off from Portland to start his month long tour of every corner on the globe. I know he went strait to New York where he won the High Air contest at the Ramen Noodle Bowl Jam, or something like that. Stop by the

I know Ryans next stop is at the
Kink Demolition Derby and then down to Florida to play in the
Shadows. I think after all the Shadows gather, they are jumping on a jet plane to go overseas and tour around for a while. Seems like a plan to me.

Welcome to an idea I had this last weekend. The idea came to life when I was going through a lot of old pictures I shot years ago. There was this one picture that I had of Shad that was from around the time he moved into Portland. I think the picture really does a great job of showing what it used to be like to be a bike rider in Portland in the early days. The best part is that the picture doesn't even involve bikeriding. When did you get your first bike, what was it?In 87' and it was a Peugot freestyle bike.
Why did you start riding?I grew up around all these old school skaters down the street, then I saw the
movie rad and wanted to get a bmx bike!!!
How many of the people that you started riding with still ride?None.....I met ODB a few years later and he still rides!
Who was your favorite rider growing up?Ron wilkerson and Vic Murphy
Who is your favorite rider now?I dont know, I really dont have a favorite. There are people who I get excited to see, but that changes on a daily basis.
What was first, Photo or Video?Photo, I started shooting with a lil 110 camera my grandma got me for Chistmas.
When did you first pick up a camera?When I was like 14.
What videos have you done?Um really just blueprint. I do film for Props quite a bit and film guys around
here for other video projects.
How did you get started with Props?I was sent down to film Roots in 2000. It's the same Props as the old

What do these two have in common? They have both broken their jaws in half. Hucke went through some surgury today to repair his broken jaw. In total 2 plates and 8 screws now put humpty dumpty back together again.

Glenhaven, Vancouver Park Updates!!!

Yesterday was the Glenhaven Park final design meeting.
30 skaters and 2 BMXers (myself and Austin McCabe plus
his girl) attended. Its looks like bikes will be
allowed but only till noon. Here is the FINAL DESIGN.
Couv Park Contest/Fundraiser is in the works. I talked
to my old boss today at Parks and Recs and he sounds
stoked. Here are some ideas for the event:
- Best Trick on the sketchy Rail
- Longest Feable Grind
- Highest Bunny Hop
- Long Jump out of the park
- Hell Track Race around the park (finish line is
jumping out of the 6ft elbow over the walkway and
ledge and down the grass bank) Pretty RAD!!!
- And a Best Trick
We will also have other obstacles like a sub box,
grind ledges, and super kicker ramps.

Mahalo from Hawaii...
I received this pic from Tony Sanchez the other day. I have not received confirmation if it is of his worksite in Hawaii. But I do know that is one huge crane. A bit ago Tony was on leave from work when a thick as hell piece of rebar hit him in the head. This could have honestly killed Tony. He was painfully lucky, he had the staples in his head to prove it. Last time I talked to Tony he has received his bike and was trying to track down some Loteks. I hope he has been riding and I hope he enjoys his stay in WAIANAE, HAWAII. Mahalo!!!

Another Hillsboro Warning...
Hillsboro has been a main stop on the Westside Skatepark Tour by Riders. I just wanted to give you another warning that the cops ae cracking down and not everyone will get as lucky as Ryan, Ken and crew did.
They were riding, cops came. This usually leads to a tongue lashing, maybe tickets, maybe bike confiscation. It turned out the cop had no interest in any of these options. He asked the guys to hang their heads and look like they were getting reamed. They did and he let them go.
It turned out that some skateboarders at the park called the police and the cop was on his way to have a little chat with them. Just be warned, if you ride there it can get bad when the cops come. Other than that enjoy!

Technical Difficulties...
So it may appear that the site hasn't been updated in a while. It turns out that the pipes were clogged and nothing was actually posting. We gave ot the internets version of the Pink stuff and everything has been fixed. We will actually get news up on time, well maybe.

Glenhaven Paark Meeting....

Glenhaven meeting - opposition expectedA public meeting that is scheduled for next Tuesday night to share the final skatepark design for Glenhaven Park. Dreamland has worked hard to create a park that will serve street and tranny preferences and we are excited to present their plan.
Rod Wojtanik from Parks asks for help and a showing of support for this project as he has been contacted by a neighbor of Glenhaven that is extremely upset with the project.
Here's part of a note from the NIMBY:
"To be perfectly frank with you, Ron, I will be pleasantly surprised if this well-intentioned project does not end up destroying Glen Haven Park and degrading the neighborhood in the process.
I'm still amazed that more neighbors did not object and believe many will once they see the results...the first victim will be the condition of the park itself. For starters, who will pick up the mountain of trash every day of the year?"
This is more of the same old prejudice and ignorance and needs to be met with maturity and solidarity. Please attend if you can to show support for the skatepark, particularly if you live in the neighborhood of Glenhaven. The last meeting about this at that location was pretty well attended. Rod suggests a show of support for the neighborhood association that has backed the skatepark project all along.
The meeting will be held:
Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Grace Lutheran Church, located at the intersection of Fremont and 76th, address 7610 NE Fremont. The meeting begins at 7, the skate park presentation will begin about 7:15 and is the main agenda item.

Happy 4th of July!!!
Happy 4th of July!!! This is one of the view of the waterfront Madness I had last year with Ken and eric as the three of us sat on the edge of the Ross Island Bridge with our feet dangling over the edge. It was pretty crazy, especially when a large truck or bus went by. The 4th was the cap on a fun weekend we all had at Ben from the Coast's house in Lincoln City. What great memories. Weekend update...
First off, 3 days ago or so
Eddie C. reported to the Hospital in pain. Turned out he had a Pendicitis. We was sent to surgury and now he's just chillin' in the hospital. He doesn't think he will be let out for another few days. I hope a speedy recovery for him.
Next up is a Red Bull Elevation update. This is the easy one, you can visit
