Portland area skateparks update...
"There is a lot of skatepark news. The Glenhaven park opened today (4/27) and was still fun while dodging a million kids trying to impress each other with there fastplants to flat. Park should be fun in some time. It features a good-sized street course with some tranny. The park also has two bowls one small, and one with medium sized trannies and some hips. The smaller bowl is shaped like a peanut and is Team Shralp Approved w/ stairs and fully wrapped with pool copping.
The Vancouver, WA park has been started. About half of the bowl is done and the full pipe is poured. It looks like tons of fun and hopefully will be open sometime this summer. I heard a rumor today that it may not be open until the rest of the park features, playground equipment, walkways, bathrooms, etc., are done. Good news is that it is getting built finally.
Woodland, WA skatepark bowl is North of Vancouver about 20 minutes. The bowl is fun and some locals told me they are going to start working on the street elements of the park this week. That is not for sure though, it was just word of mouth from a kid with dirt on his face and bent handlebars. Also while we were there, Little Caleb rolled/broke his ankle. I talked to him today and he should be out for a while.
Battleground, WA is done, but you can't ride it. They are waiting until the landscaping is done to open. If you don't know Battleground, it is also about 20 minutes North of Vancouver. You can go North from either I-5 or the I-205. They will both merge together just before the Battleground Exit.
Just some news on the parks, see you out there."-Jason Hendricks
If you have any pictures of the new Parks send them my way. I would like to show people what is going on out there.-ben

Hoder Jam...

The guy above is named
Mike Hoder. The guy above this is having a
Jam/ Best Trick Contest at his house. The guy above and the guy's he rides with are all nuts. They just don't ride bikes like normal people would, so that means they don't build jam ramps like normal people would. The guy above and his friends are planning on building Loops, Drop-ins from the roof of his house and other crazy shit. The guy's jam is planned for
Saturday June 2nd, 2007. You have time to work on your skills. Better yet, spend the next 2 months losing your mind and you will do fine. Thanks to Jack for the heads up.-ben

The
Empire video, Chill Bro premiered this past weekend and
Devon Hutchins captured what seems like every moment of it. While I was going through the pictures I noticed someone. Yep, that sure is Forrest Berkey up there. This gave me an idea for a contest. The first person to cruise through all the pictures a count how many times you see Forrest will win some good stuff. Email your answers into me at the email above.-ben
What are the prizes? Haha, that is the best catch. You find out about the prizes after the contest is won. So you better hustle!
*Forrest and anyone realted to Forrest cannot win this contest. For a full list of the rules, send a self addressed stamped envelope to yourself.*

No way, this is even better. The most legit guy in BMX,
Chester Blacksmith, just
scored the cover to the new
Ride BMX Magazine. To tell you I am stoked for the guy is an understatement. I called Chester this morning after a visit to Ride to let him know the good news. He was absolutly shocked and happy. A few Portland heads and myself were present when Chet slayed this monster of a rail and it was a monster. Congrats again Chet!!!

In other Davey news... Davey just set out to
Paris, France to go on his first
