Home Coming...

Well how do you follow up a long night in bed at 3:30am up at 8:20am in the office by 10:30am. You write a post for the website waiting for the clock to tick 1pm so you can run home and head out to LAX. I should be home around 8:30pm tonight. It has been almost 7 months since I was last up in Portland and I have missed it.
This is the last thing of the year and it has been a crazy one. I was at my last job for around 9 months and it seemed like 9 years. The last 25 months have flown bye. It's hard to believe I've been here that long, it has truly seemed like a few months. A lot of my designs I did last year have had great success and one of the first projects I ever worked on (Plegs) are finally out. Even with some major set backs we had another record year and we were nicely rewarded with a shocking bonus. If I was Clark W. Griswald, the kids would definitely have been getting a pool.
I have been putting so much into my work lately and it hasn't left much for anything outside of the office. I guess that is why the site has been slacking, well that and server space issues, haha. I really look forward to this trip home. I will be there for New Years too. If you know my number, give me a ring. If you don't hit me up through the site email, that goes straight to my pocket, so it is just as good as a text.-ben

Dean Burrito!!!
Dean came down to Cali for a visit and to get his Shred Boner on the end of last month, Friday the 30th to be exact. We woke up early the next morning (6am) to head down toward the San Diego burn zone. Some sick thing in Dean gets excited when there are extensive fires in Southern California. I totally understand it though. They simply mean that tons of new back yard pools will ready to shred in a few months with a bit of work.
On this particular we were heading straight to the Pala Square cause Dean needed to do some Corner Airs. I try and tell Dean there will be water since it had rained, really hard, the day previous. We get there and sure enough, there is quite a bit of water in the pool. Too much to try and empty with no real buckets. So we decide to
move on.
As we head out of the Pala zone I decide to try and hit up the Lord of D, Alex, and ask about this pool I was supposed to go ride with them a few weeks before. No one answers, so we decide to crash the North County D!! house. I rush in with the camera shooting off, there were people passed out everywhere. It was pretty fun, they were pretty grumpy. Good times.
We all get everything arranged and we head out to the mountain pool. We roll up next to this dialed house that is under construction and climb a hill. It was like walking into paradise. The place was nuts! We couldn't believe what we were seeing.
There were some old school skaters there that claimed they had drained about a foot already, they hadn't. They even made sure to take off when they heard Dean and crew were going to drain it. Dudes were lame! Dean, Kurt and Lord of bullet wound appenDix Alex, all got started with what they could find to drain the water with. Paul wall and Braden showed up a bit after and started to help out as well. I slacked, haha, and took pictures. There were more men than tools, so no need to get in that tangle.
After a while everything was emptied, and the sun graced us with his rays. Time to ride! Fast forward to the end of the session. Everyone was having a blast when the sky's closed back up and began to dump rain on us again, there was so much to still be done. The only thing that didn't bum me out was knowing that those old school skaters that left earlier would have to re-empty this pool since it as filling fast when we left. Enjoy the pictures...Click to go big!-ben
