Helmets, Should we use them?

I am definitely not one to lecture on the safety of helmets, since even after witnessing a few bad accidents and knowing one friend is still in the hospital after almost 5 months, I don't wear one. You may be thinking, "Dude fell 15 feet to his head, what would a helmet have really done for him?" My answer is, it actually would have done a lot, dude.

Discussions we had while I was back home about the parks design were pretty much summed up with, "There is no reason for there not to be some sort of railing near that edge to prevent such an accident." We then talked about several places where railings would be a good idea. All I know is, it's the rider responsibility to step up and take care of themselves. I know in Oregon there are Laws about young people HAVING to wear a helmet, and I totally agree.

I am not sure how the rider is doing, but my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.-ben
