I could also feel the Pig Cold wanting to get back into this body. I showered, checked my list and was ready to go before 6 when Nuno was supposed to show up and he did. We hopped in the van, hit the gas station for fuel and ice and sale cash, made a failed attempt at a Wendy's breakfast, they open at 7am, then said fuck it and hit the road.

Our journey took about 25 miles North on the 605 to a town called Arcadia. Traffic was as smooth as you would expect it to be at 6am and we made great time. There was a Circle K near the event so I hit that up for breakfast and more cash. When Nuno and I arrived we got right to work setting up the booth. (see above)

It took some time to dial it in. Nuno built about 7 new bike holders, I did all sorts of arranging of both New and Mid-School (about 85 and up) Bikes, including the Spike Bike and photo blow up display. I spent some time dialing in my sale table so I could unload part I did not need and replenish the savings account.

Finally at some point we were done. It took some time with early lurkers and parts buyers. My sale was off to a great start and people were feeling the bikes. Greyboy and Truly were set up next to us, so we had the entire front row of the show on heavy lock down.

The day for me really just involved being a sales man, historian, chiller and chatter. I did some interviews with Fuel TV about the Spike Bike, a Booth Tour with YAWN and quite a few question answer session with many a folk. All in all a pretty dialed day. Weather, was pretty average and much cooler than last year.

At some point Chris and Link made an appearance and it was rad to see them and have them out. They showed up later in the day and were around for the awards ceremonies. One awesome surprise was when S.Brothers and other show people came through the booth to let me know on the DL and congratulate me on winning the Best Mid-School BMX for the 2009 year. Yeah that's right, the SPIKE BIKE WON!

I am still pretty surprised since there was no real buzz around the booth that I knew of. I have to say that it was great to know the riders and collectors I knew I had to rebuild this bike for really enjoyed it and the chance to experience it.

My show day ended with smiles, hand shakes, hugs and a Costanza Wallet from selling off parts. We started breaking down and that whole process actually went pretty smooth. Francis, Nuno and I hit Chick-Fil-A on the way home. Turned out Francis had to head back out to Arcadia since he was not given his card back when he got breakfast, bummer. I was home around 7 and after some chilling I headed out to unload what I needed left here at the house and even lightly cleaned up the garage. I will probabaly finish that tomorrow.

Thanks and huge fucking Kudos to Steve Brothers for a show that surpassed all expectations and last year by so far. It will be hard to top this and the trophy's, wow, amazing. Steve Blacky knocked those out of the park! Thanks to Stephen, Veesh, Albert (get better homie), John, Nuno, Francis and whoever I forgot for the help and conversation in the booth. Another Shout out and congrats to Grey (Best Freestyle) and Truly (Best Pit bike) for winning with their bikes, those things were rad! More photos in the Flickr, Etnies in the morning, I need to ride!
