Actually in bed by midnight last night and the alarm set for 8:30 to get up and head to Etnies to ride. I was wide awake around 7 but I decided to ignore my rule of when I first wake up, get up and tried to sleep into the alarm. By the time I did, I like usual felt terrible and had even added a crick to my neck, bummer.
Mark was over around 9:30 and we hit the road. First stop a gas station for a terrible breakfast of a breakfast dog and Amp energy, haha. So blowing it. We got to the park just after session start at 10. There were so many kids. It was pretty terrible, but tolerable. Tammy McCarly was at the park, not riding, but filming his brother. I didn't know he had a brother. We talked for a bit, then more riding and shredded the bowl for the first time, then we were over it and left around 12:10. I sprinted back to the van to get the heart pumping, loaded up and left.
Quick stop at the office to swap the van out for my car. Chris was there on the phone. I hooked Mark up with some new grips and a Mexi Blanket Seat, fast stop then we were off. Next stop was Greyboy's to pick up Steve Brothers to go hit up the Indian Buffet. Steve was finishing up some www.os-bmx.com site work about the Reunion Show yesterday and we were off.
Parked on the road, 1 hour 9 minutes in time on the meter. The buffet was amazing as usual. After lunch we chilled and shot the shit for a while. Then I remembered, the meter! We got up and walked back to the car. Through the windows in the building I could see the meter man walking up behind my car and my meter was flashing. I chirped my car alarm and came around the corner asking if I was too late. He says, "If you have a quarter it will save you $43 dollars." Steve tosses one in the meter and the guy says, "Have a nice day." Stoked!
Mark and I drop Steve back off a Grey's and shoot it with Grey and Truly for a bit. They were riding the grind box. It was set up a good distance from the sidewalk and I saw Truly get the eye of the tiger look at the gap and gave it a go and cleaned a gap off the sidewalk to double on the box. He was stoked, were all were pumped. After a bit I headed home, Mark said his goodbyes and I headed inside to chill. When I walked in, an amazing food smell hit me in the face.
Rachael was in the kitchen and Ryan said, "Chili." She was making chili. Smelled so good. After a bit Rachael's friend Colby and her boyfriend Abdias came over and we all had a chili dinner. Then cupcake talk started.
After a quick trip to the store and a short amount of time, we were devouring Oreo Cupcakes. I had two handicupcakes, not the prettiest, but tasted great, and I called that enough. I was already pushing it with what I ate. After a bit I called it a night and headed to my room to watch the Cycleism Sunday that recorded earlier and to write this.
It's nice to know that everything will get back to a normal schedule for a little while. Bauer should be back from the honeymoon tomorrow and then a Austin trip in a few weeks for work. Photo above is of Mark chugging his Redbull and us chatting with another friend before shredding. Back to real life.
