2009-10-22 22:51:54 -Downtown Austin. #295

When you transfer off the 290 East onto the 35 North heading into downtown Austin the bridge transfer flies over the skyline. As you look to your left it gives you a real similar view to the one you get in Portland as you fly over it's skyline from the 405-I5 transfer towards the Rose Garden.

I never noticed this until about a month after I got here and it was great to know this new place I call home has some many similarities and having this view is one of the best. It takes me back to all of the 2am drives home from work home in Portland and as I made that turn it always took my breath away, just like this one does and truly puts a smile on my face.

I shot this image as best as I could at high speeds on my way to the Social Security office to get my card so I can finally get my Texas license. St. Edwards University on the left and downtown in the middle right.
